1st Grade Teacher

Last week, Mommy got a phone call from my 1st grade teacher saying she wanted to surprise me today and come meet me.  Mommy told me that a teacher was going to come, but she didn't say when or what day.  During lunch today, Mommy and I came up with some questions, and I had Mommy write them down so I could ask my teacher when we met her.  I wanted to know:  1.  How many kids were in my class?  2.  I had some specific friends that I had met that I wanted to see if they were in my class.  3.  Do you have any kids?   4.  If she was the new teacher- Were you scared coming to my school?  If she wasn't new- Does she like teaching there?  5.  What is her favorite dessert and food?     Besides my questions, we also picked up a Sonic drink that we would just keep in the fridge until she got here. (Mommy knew that she was coming this afternoon, but just didn't want to spoil the surprise). :)  As Charley and I were playing, we saw a car that we didn't recognize pull up, and then my teacher came to my door!!!!!

She shook my hand and told me what a beautiful and handsome young man I was-- and then said she should really just say handsome since I was a boy. :)

I then went and got her Sonic drink to give her and she was SO excited.  She told us that she had just told her husband that she was thirsty and he was going to have to go get her a drink, so now they didn't have to do that.  She said that she loved hugs and asked if she could hug me to thank her for the drink.

She then had a bag with some things in it for first grade. I had a name tag to wear the first day of school, a special pencil to use at school, some smarties (since I'm so smart), and a little homework assignment for the first day.  She asked if I could read the assignment, and I read it quickly and easily.  She was super impressed with my reading skills and wanted to make sure I wasn't going into 3rd grade instead. :)

After she showed me all the things in the bag, I got to ask her all my questions.  Again, she was impressed with how smart I was and how precious I was. :)

Charley LOVED her too and kept wanting to play with her hair and sit in her lap, so she was so nice to involve Charley too. She said she would whisper her favorite dessert to Charley and she could tell us.  She told us how much she loves chocolate chip cookies. :)

After our conversation, I told her that she was beautiful and she laughed and said how I had made her day. :)  Charley then took her on a tour of the house, so she got to see everything (even the closets). :)  She was SO sweet and so interested in everything we showed her.  She said she wished she could stay because we were so much fun. :)  Finally, she had to leave to go see my other new friends, so we had to say goodbye.  We walked her outside and got to meet her husband too.  It was SOOOOO awesome to meet her, and now I am super excited for first grade.  After she left, I was giddy.  I kept telling Mommy how much I wanted to start school tomorrow and go ALL day long.  I told her how I was nervous before, but now I am so excited.

From Mommy:  Today completely exceeded my expectations.  I am BEYOND excited about Javed's new teacher and the new school he will be going to.  She was so loving and excited to be his teacher, and there is not many things that can make a mama more happy than to see someone cherish her child.     Javed had been pretty nervous about switching schools and his attitude hasn't been the greatest, but after she left, it was a complete change.  She made him (and us) feel like we were so important and special.  Javed was literally jumping around, hugging me, and just laying on the floor and sighing--like a lovestruck little boy. :)  It was so cute.  I am so excited for him to be in an environment where they are pouring truth into his life and making him not only excited about learning academics but about growing in a relationship with our Savior.  My cup runneth over. :)
