Super Server

One of our good friends started a mission called Super Servers.  She and her family were inspired by a blog that called them to do 25 acts of random kindness.  They enjoyed it so much that they began Super Servers.  Each week, we are asked to complete a mission of service.  The hope is that we can spread God's love and that we all develop hearts for service.  Our mission this week was to decorate someone's door.  We spent awhile talking about who we should choose, and then once we decided on Marla and her family, we began to plan.  I worked hard on writing letters to our friends.  We baked cookies, decorated signs, and blew up some balloons.  We then sneaked over to their house and decorated their door.  This was SOOO much fun, and we just loved encouraging them.  Mommy also loved all of our sweet conversations about how loving other people makes God SO happy.   We can't wait for our next mission!!

Houston

Today, we headed to Houston to spend some time with our family and celebrate the upcoming birth of baby Cash.  After driving for awhile, we were SUPER excited to find a rest spot that had a playground.  After a short play time, we got to Nana and Grandpa's house.  We were SO excited to see them.  We just love our time with all of our family!

Fun with Friends

This morning, we had a last minute playdate at a local church.  We had four different family friends meet us, and we had so much fun playing together.  After playing there, some of us went to lunch together at Chipotle.  After a yummy lunch, we had fun running around outside.  We loved chasing each other and just being together!  We are so blessed to have such great friends!

Eye Surgery

A couple of months ago, I found out that I was going to have to have eye surgery to correct the muscles in my eyes.  I have been wearing glasses since I was eighteen months old, and over the past three to four years, I have been having to patch my eyes off and on to strengthen my muscles.  I found out last time that I went to my eye appointment that my glasses are not doing everything they need to, and now I will need to have double strabismus surgery.  Yesterday, Mommy and Daddy took me to see my doctor, so she could do a quick checkup before the surgery.  I did a great job telling her the letters that I saw and answering all of her questions.  Although I am not looking forward to this surgery, I am hoping it will help my eyes.

Looking for Objects that Pop Up

Well, this morning, Mommy woke me up VERY early, and I didn't quite understand why we had to leave while it was still dark outside.  I told Mommy that I'd rather sleep in my bed.  :)

From Mommy:
Daddy and I were SO proud our little Javed boy.  He was such a champ.  The hospital was great, and they did a wonderful job of making him feel comfortable.  Javed found a friend right when we got there (who had an IPad), so that helped take his mind off of things as he watched Tom and Jerry.  Then, once they called him back, they let him choose a movie and gave him his own DVD player.  He was excited to sort through his choices, and he finally decided on a Nickelodeon special with different TV shows.  It was very nice and very distracting! :)

After we talked to all the doctors, the nurse gave Javed some purple "goofy" juice that made him get really tired.  He asked for us to go with him to the room but seemed fine when we told him that we couldn't go.

The surgery was fairly short and the doctor delivered great news that everything went very well and there were no complications.  His eyes were straight!

As soon as he started stirring, they allowed Daddy and I to go back to where he was.  As he started to wake up, he was VERY frustrated with the IV in his foot.  He was crying and trying very hard to take it out.  Heartwrenching.  After feeling so helpless and looking at his bloody eyes, it hit me, and I started feeling like I was going to faint.  Thank God for extra nurses to take care of a squeamish momma and an incredibly daddy to comfort his little boy.   They were able to finally get the IV out, and that seemed to help some.  He finally started to drink a little apple juice and eat a popsicle.  Once Javed (and I) felt a little better, they went ahead and dismissed us.  He was anxious to get home and watch TV and relax.  On the way home, his belly got upset and he got sick.  More reason to get into our home and onto the couch!

Once we got home, it wasn't long before he started to act like his normal self.  He wanted something to eat and was able to hold down goldfish, a sandwich, and a little yogurt.  After that, he said he was still starving!  :)    He is looking good- his eyes are very red (which is very normal), and other than that, he actually said he can see a little better.  We are all VERY glad that the surgery is over, and we pray that this is our last one!  We are so, so proud of our little Javey Baby! :)
