Looking for Objects that Pop Up
Well, this morning, Mommy woke me up VERY early, and I didn't quite understand why we had to leave while it was still dark outside. I told Mommy that I'd rather sleep in my bed. :)
From Mommy:
Daddy and I were SO proud our little Javed boy. He was such a champ. The hospital was great, and they did a wonderful job of making him feel comfortable. Javed found a friend right when we got there (who had an IPad), so that helped take his mind off of things as he watched Tom and Jerry. Then, once they called him back, they let him choose a movie and gave him his own DVD player. He was excited to sort through his choices, and he finally decided on a Nickelodeon special with different TV shows. It was very nice and very distracting! :)
After we talked to all the doctors, the nurse gave Javed some purple "goofy" juice that made him get really tired. He asked for us to go with him to the room but seemed fine when we told him that we couldn't go.
The surgery was fairly short and the doctor delivered great news that everything went very well and there were no complications. His eyes were straight!
As soon as he started stirring, they allowed Daddy and I to go back to where he was. As he started to wake up, he was VERY frustrated with the IV in his foot. He was crying and trying very hard to take it out. Heartwrenching. After feeling so helpless and looking at his bloody eyes, it hit me, and I started feeling like I was going to faint. Thank God for extra nurses to take care of a squeamish momma and an incredibly daddy to comfort his little boy. They were able to finally get the IV out, and that seemed to help some. He finally started to drink a little apple juice and eat a popsicle. Once Javed (and I) felt a little better, they went ahead and dismissed us. He was anxious to get home and watch TV and relax. On the way home, his belly got upset and he got sick. More reason to get into our home and onto the couch!
Once we got home, it wasn't long before he started to act like his normal self. He wanted something to eat and was able to hold down goldfish, a sandwich, and a little yogurt. After that, he said he was still starving! :) He is looking good- his eyes are very red (which is very normal), and other than that, he actually said he can see a little better. We are all VERY glad that the surgery is over, and we pray that this is our last one! We are so, so proud of our little Javey Baby! :)
